Struggling with Strife!

Are you struggling with Strife?

Galatians 5: 19-21 says, “Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, envy, drunkenness, orgies and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

Strife is a work of the flesh and needs to be met at the door of our hearts by the Holy Spirit working in our life. We overcome the flesh by reading the word and choosing to obey the word of God instead of letting our flesh lead the way.

What to do if a non Christian offends you:

Example: I am mad at Susie and I want to scream at her and tell her off, but I know the word of God.

1st The word says, “Hatred stirs up strife, but love covers all offenses.” Proverbs 10:12

2nd I need to think of the consequences of my actions:
• Is screaming and getting to show my flesh more important than my witness with others?
• Is my relationship with Susie worth trying to get alone?
• Do I care that God sees and knows that I care more about my flesh getting its way than my obedience to His word?

But what if the person I am mad at is a Christian too? Good question, let’s see what the word of God says to us about this subject.

II Timothy 2:23-25 “Have nothing to do with foolish, ignorant controversies; you know that they breed quarrels. And the Lord’s servant must not be quarrelsome but kind to everyone, able to teach, patiently enduring evil, correction his opponents with gentleness. God may perhaps grant them repentance leading to a knowledge of the truth.”

• Note those that cause discord among the brethren and avoid them.
• Be kind and obey God’s word! (use gentleness)

What if you go to a person and state your feeling and they want repent?

Matthew 18: 15-17 “If your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault, between you and him alone. If he listens to you, you have gained your brother, but if does not listen, take one or two others along with you, that every charge may be established by the evidence of two or three witnesses. If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church, and If he refuses to listen even to the church, let him be to you as a Gentile and a tax collector.”



So the word says:
• Go to that brother alone first, in love and state the issue
• If he will not listen or repent take one or two with you and discuss the issue
• The third thing is to bring it before the church


Proverbs 16:28 “ A dishonest man spreads strife, and a whisperer separates close friends.”

Proverbs 26:20-21 “ For lack of wood the fire goes out, and where there is no whisperer, quarreling ceases. 21. As charcoal to hot embers and wood to fire, so is a quarrelsome man for kindling strife.”


I have decided to follow Jesus; I have decided to follow Jesus. I have decided to follow Jesus, no turning back, no turning back.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, forgive me of strife and an ugly spirit. I love you, more than I love getting my way and letting my flesh have dominion over your Holy presence in my life. 10 Ways to hear from the Lord

For the month of June, I encourage you to seek the Lord more than ever! I challenge you to ask Him to speak, so you can hear Him as a mother knows her child’s cry.
Below I have listed 10 ways to hear from our Lord. Study them and read the scriptures and invite the Holy Spirit of God to come and fellowship with you afresh. In Him, Sister Kathy

1. Dreams

Gen. 37:5 And Joseph dreamed a dream, and he told it his brethren: and they hated him yet the more.

Gen. 31:11 And the angel of God spake unto me in a dream, saying, Jacob: And I said, Here am I. ( This was Jesus speaking to Jacob in a dream)

Matt. 1:20
But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the LORD appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.

Acts. 2:17 And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:

2. Auditable voice

Ex. 33:11 And the LORD spake unto Moses face to face, as a man speaketh unto his friend. And he turned again into the camp: but his servant Joshua, the son of Nun, a young man, departed not out of the tabernacle.

I SAM. 3:6
And the LORD called yet again, Samuel. And Samuel arose and went to Eli, and said, Here am I; for thou didst call me. And he answered, I called not, my son; lie down again.

Gen. 3:8 And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden.

3. Preaching

Jonah 3:2 Arise, go unto Nineveh, that great city, and preach unto it the preaching that I bid thee.

Matt. 3:1 In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judaea,

Matt. 9:35 And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.

I Cor. 2:4 And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power:

Titus 1:3 But hath in due times manifested his word through preaching, which is committed unto me according to the commandment of God our Saviour

4. Through Prophets or other people

Acts 21:11 And when he was come unto us, he took Paul's girdle, and bound his own hands and feet, and said, Thus saith the Holy Ghost, So shall the Jews at Jerusalem bind the man that owneth this girdle, and shall deliver him into the hands of the Gentiles.

I Sam. 16:1 And the LORD said unto Samuel, How long wilt thou mourn for Saul, seeing I have rejected him from reigning over Israel? fill thine horn with oil, and go, I will send thee to Jesse the Bethlehemite: for I have provided me a king among his sons.

Acts 27:31 Paul said to the centurion and to the soldiers, Except these abide in the ship, ye cannot be saved.

5. Still small voice/ thought/ reflection

I Kings 19:12 And after the earthquake a fire; but the LORD was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice.

6. BY the Angel of the Lord (Jesus) Rev. 22:8 And I John saw these things, and heard them. And when I had heard and seen, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel which shewed me these things.

Gen 21:17 And God heard the voice of the lad; and the angel of God called to Hagar out of heaven, and said unto her, What aileth thee, Hagar? fear not; for God hath heard the voice of the lad where he is.

Gen. 22:11And the angel of the LORD called unto him out of heaven, and said, Abraham, Abraham: and he said, Here am I.

Judges 2:1-5 Angel talked as God.
Judges 13:3, 22 They saw God and lived.

7. The Word of God

I Sam 12:14 If ye will fear the LORD, and serve him, and obey his voice, and not rebel against the commandment of the LORD, then shall both ye and also the king that reigneth over you continue following the LORD your God

II Kings 18:12 Because they obeyed not the voice of the LORD their God, but transgressed his covenant, and all that Moses the servant of the LORD commanded, and would not hear them, nor do them.

Jer. 7:23 But this thing commanded I them, saying, Obey my voice, and I will be your God, and ye shall be my people: and walk ye in all the ways that I have commanded you, that it may be well unto you.

8. Through Holy Ghost

Luke 2 :26 And it was revealed unto him by the Holy Ghost, that he should not see death, before he had seen the Lord's Christ.

I Peter 1;12 Unto whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto us they did minister the things, which are now reported unto you by them that have preached the gospel unto you with the Holy Ghost sent down from heaven; which things the angels desire to look into.

9. Visions
Ezek. 40:2 In the visions of God brought he me into the land of Israel, and set me upon a very high mountain, by which was as the frame of a city on the south.

Dan. 1:17 As for these four children, God gave them knowledge and skill in all learning and wisdom: and Daniel had understanding in all visions and dreams.

Joel 2:28
And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions:

Acts 10: 1-10 visions of Cornelius and Peter

10. Angels (messengers of God)

Luke 1;13 But the angel said unto him, Fear not, Zacharias: for thy prayer is heard; and thy wife Elisabeth shall bear thee a son, and thou shalt call his name (Gabriel talking)

Luke 1:26-30 …you have found favor with God…

Acts 12:7-11 Peter says the Lord sent His angel…Peter did not say the Lord came to me…

Examine Yourself

Examine Yourself April 17, 2010
As I set down to write in my blog I think of my accountability to my Lord. I think about all the times I have heard the word of God. I believe that in Heaven the Lord makes notes of all we hear and learn and we become accountable to what we have heard. If we use the word of God to judge ourselves, we will be in right standing with the Father. Below I have listed several scriptures that talk about our examining ourselves. Today as we move toward His Glory to Glory let Him change us into His image by reading His word and living our lives accountable to His word.

2 Corinthians 13:4-6 (King James Version)
4For though he was crucified through weakness, yet he liveth by the power of God. For we also are weak in him, but we shall live with him by the power of God toward you.
5Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?
6But I trust that ye shall know that we are not reprobates.

Psalm 26
1Judge me, O LORD; for I have walked in mine integrity: I have trusted also in the LORD; therefore I shall not slide.
2Examine me, O LORD, and prove me; try my reins and my heart.
3For thy lovingkindness is before mine eyes: and I have walked in thy truth.

Jesus was examined

Number 32:20-23 (Moses is reminding the people of God that if we disobey the word of God then our sins will find us out)

Job 34:21 The Lord sees us in every way, everyday. We cannot hide from God!
21 "His eyes are on the ways of men;
he sees their every step.

John 3:20 This scripture listed below speaks for it’s self. People walking in sin do not want the light of the word to intrude on their sin, therefore refusing the gospel that tells us that, “ the wages of sin are death” and that sin is only fun for a season, then the judgment. (Hebrews 11:25)

19-21"This is the crisis we're in: God-light streamed into the world, but men and women everywhere ran for the darkness. They went for the darkness because they were not really interested in pleasing God. Everyone who makes a practice of doing evil, addicted to denial and illusion, hates God-light and won't come near it, fearing a painful exposure. But anyone working and living in truth and reality welcomes God-light so the work can be seen for the God-work it is."

Finally my sisters and brothers, Proverbs 28:13 says, “13He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.”

Please take the time to pray this prayer:
Father in the name of Jesus, I realize by examining myself by your word that I have fell short. I repent of my sins. I turn a new way. I will not practice sin any longer. I will take baby steps of faith and you will honor that faith with your overcoming grace. Thank you for your blood and your forgiveness. Thank you for showing me that the wages of sin is death and I choose you and eternal life.

The Lord is calling us to another level! April 2010

Don’t be afraid to go forward.

The Israelites were very tired of being slaves. They were slaves to Egypt. They had to do hard labor and belong to another man. They wanted freedom. They wanted a new life, but with change comes a commitment to go forward.

A lot of us today are slaves to wrong friends, wrong thinking, drugs, alcohol, overeating, and disobedience. We want change, but fear the unknown. We like staying in our comfort zone.
Like the battered wife, we want change, we need change, we even crave change, but what will happen if we dare to take a step forward; a step of the unknown? That’s why you see so much of our battered wives returning into the bad situation to begin the abuse again. It is comfortable and they know what to expect, even if it is dangerous.

Ex. 14:1- 15
1And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
2Speak unto the children of Israel, that they turn and encamp before Pihahiroth, between Migdol and the sea, over against Baalzephon: before it shall ye encamp by the sea.

3For Pharaoh will say of the children of Israel, They are entangled in the land, the wilderness hath shut them in.
4And I will harden Pharaoh's heart, that he shall follow after them; and I will be honoured upon Pharaoh, and upon all his host; that the Egyptians may know that I am the LORD. And they did so.


Fear causes us to doubt. The Lord has led Moses to lead the people toward the Red Sea. Next the Lord has allowed what was in Pharaoh’s heart to manifest. God had allowed the hardness of Pharaoh’s heart to become action. God had allowed this situation to show His people that He will take care of them and that He is their God.

God will allow situations in our lives to prove Himself big to us. Quit fighting God and accept that He is in charge and will always have the last word in your life.

Exodus 14:
9 But the Egyptians pursued after them, all the horses and chariots of Pharaoh, and his horsemen, and his army, and overtook them encamping by the sea, beside Pihahiroth, before Baalzephon.
10 And when Pharaoh drew nigh, the children of Israel lifted up their eyes, and, behold, the Egyptians marched after them; and they were sore afraid: and the children of Israel cried out unto the LORD.
11 And they said unto Moses, Because there were no graves in Egypt, hast thou taken us away to die in the wilderness? wherefore hast thou dealt thus with us, to carry us forth out of Egypt?
12 Is not this the word that we did tell thee in Egypt, saying, Let us alone, that we may serve the Egyptians? For it had been better for us to serve the Egyptians, than that we should die in the wilderness.


Verse 11 is typical of humans. If everything doesn’t go the way we want it. We blame the leaders. Everyone is wrong, but me, I cannot admit that I did wrong, or that I am going through a test and God wants to see if I trust Him. I could choose to say, “This too will pass.” Or “My God will work all things out for my good.” Or I could be like the Israelites and go around the same Mountain for 40 years. It is my chose!

Verse 12 is like the battered woman, just let me stay here till I die, it is too hard to make a change.

Exodus 14
13 And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever.
14 The LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.
15 And the LORD said unto Moses, Wherefore criest thou unto me? speak unto the children of Israel, that they go forward:
v. 14 the Lord shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.

v. 15 -----------go------forward--------- Dare to trust God! Go forward today, get out of your comfort zone! Pass this test and go to another level with God. The choice is yours…

Prayer: Father forgive me that I have fought change. Forgive me that I have blamed others for my lack-of-faith. Today, I make a decision to go forward in the things of God. I choose to give up past mistakes and by faith head toward the seas of my life knowing that the God of the possible can divide any sea for me to go forward. A-men I love you Lord!

Learn to love change...

Quit fighting! God has to win for you to be a winner!

Change is coming. So many of us are so afraid of change that we are fighting God.

Matthew 1:18 when Jesus first showed up in the womb of the Virgin Mary, change happened (a virgin was pregnant)
Mary was wise beyond her years, when change was coming to her, what did she say, “Let it be to me according to your word.” Luke 1:38

Mary could have fought the Lord! What will people think? I know not a man! This is impossible!
The Lord would have just gone to a willing vessel.
One that would allow change

2. Matt 1:18-25 Joseph’s life was changed. He was to marry a young girl a virgin, but he found out that she was pregnant. Thank the Lord Joseph listened to the Holy Ghost in a dream and excepted change.

3. When Jesus is Lord of our lives change should be occurring. We should be going from glory to glory and becoming more Christ like everyday. We should be changing because Christ is with us and showing up. (Things that bothered us yesterday should not be bothering us today)

Is there something that just keeps bugging you? I know that last week I got angry with someone and the Holy Ghost had to remind me not to take it personal, but I wanted to take it personal. I wanted my flesh to handle this. I put up a good fight until I realized whom I was fighting with.

I am so thankful for a lord of long suffering.

4. Matt. 2:1 When Jesus showed up wise men started looking for Him.
Verse3. Kings get troubled when Jesus shows up.
Verse 11 When Jesus showed up wise men worship
Verse 12 When Jesus shows up wise men dream of God. Change occurs as our Lord enters the scene.

5.. Saul before he was renamed Paul did not want change. He was fighting for the old way! Saul did his best to stop the Jesus followers. On the road to change Saul became blind to the world and opened his ears to our Lord. (think on this)

6.. The disciples did not want change. They did not want our Lord to die! But if Christ had not died for our sins where would we be? Peter even rebukes our Lord because Peter did not want change.

Be open to change: sit in a different seat at church. Eat with someone different. If you close your eyes to praise, try praising with them open…

Teachings of Peter

I have been teaching about the Disciple Peter. He was a leader that stepped out of the boat and dared to lead. All through Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, and Acts we see Peter asking questions and following after Christ. Peter would have the correct answer at times and then Jesus would say to Peter, "Get thee behind me." in another chapter, but where would we be in the body of Christ without the Peters. Those that dare to ask questions. Those that believe and act on that belief. I encourage you today, get out of the boat. Jesus wants to come to you in a way that He had never come to you before. Peter said, "If that be you Lord bid me come to thee." Jesus came walking on the water. Jesus had never done this before. Jesus is saying to the body today, I am doing a new work in a new way, don't miss my visitation because I come to you in another way. Don't limit me by your traditions! Jesus can speak to us by His inward witness, dreams, visions, other vessels, His word, and many other ways... Are you expecting a visit?

Good afternoon, as a woman that loves God, I will love sharing with you some of the thoughts that our Lord places in my spirit. When my cousin Vickie mentioned to me that I needed a blog spot to share my reflections. I thought what is a blog spot and who reads them. I love confirmation from God. At a ladies retreat a couple of weeks ago a sweet lady asked me what my contact was on the internet. I did not know at the time that this was leading me to create this blog spot. So for this season, I will be posting thoughts, reflections, prayers, songs, and scriptures for all those hungry for all they can receive from the word.
I know that today we are all so busy that to be instant in season seems foreign to most. So, I hope we can expound the word of God together and gather our thoughts.
